Celebrating 27 Years of Dedication – Andy Botha

Blog,Our Stories - November 12, 2020

At Vector Logistics, we believe that our people are our greatest asset. They are the reason that we can achieve our vision of GOING BEYOND. Dedicated to working for Vector Logistics over the last 27 years, Andy Botha was a true example of the committed people that we have been able to consider part of our family of thinkers and doers.

We sat down with Andy to get to know him more…

Before becoming a Senior Warehouse Supervisor at Vector Logistics, Andy started his career working at Bonny Bird Farms, a chicken processing plant, as a Stock Control Supervisor. During this time, he worked with many different departments which gave him the opportunity to expand his knowledge and lead him to being promoted to a Senior Warehouse Supervisor.

Over the span of his career Andy acknowledges that he has had great support from various individuals at Vector Logistics and in his interview, wanted to give special mention to the following people: Rory Matthews, John Crawford, Johan Blokker, Bonga Bhengu and Johan Nortje. Andy attributes staying for as long as he has at Vector Logistics to the knowledgeable people in the company that he has been able to continuously learn from.

When asked what words immediately come to mind when he thinks of Vector Logistics, he said, “wonderful, exciting and teamwork”, while recalling his proudest moment being the setup of the Warehouse Department at Hammarsdale as well as the start-up of our Midrand distribution site, which occurred in less than 10 days!

Andy’s parting advice for his fellow colleagues is to always put humanity first and to look after each other.

We’re proud to have had a person like Andy on our team who has shown continued loyalty to Vector Logistics for such a significant period of time and wish him well over his retirement.
