Meet Our Team: Macious Tabane

1. What three words would you use to describe myself?

Passionate. Organised. Results-oriented.

2. How would you describe your job to a child?

I help teams work smarter and faster by showing them the best way to do things.

3. Why did you choose to be part of the Vector Logistics’ team?

Because Vector Logistics is committed to operational excellence, and that aligns perfectly with my passion for efficiency, organisation, and continuous improvement. I wanted to be part of a team that thrives on innovation and high performance.

4. What excites you about this role?

The opportunity to apply my leadership and organisational skills to drive operational excellence. I’m excited about helping teams work smarter, improving processes, and seeing the direct impact of those improvements on customer satisfaction and company success.

5. How would you describe a high-performance organisation?

It’s one where goals are clear, communication is strong, and every team member is empowered to deliver excellence. Operational excellence is not just a goal, it’s the culture.

6. How do you keep yourself/your team motivated?

By celebrating milestones (small wins), keeping goals visible, and connecting daily tasks to the bigger vision of operational excellence. I also lead by example; my drive and passion inspire others to push forward.

7. Do you have a mentor/coach?

Yes - I value coaches and mentors who challenge my thinking and support my growth in leadership, purpose-driven excellence, and continuous improvement.

8. Given a chance, who would you like to be for a day?

An astronaut - to see earth from space and gain a different perspective on how interconnected and precise systems must be, much like logistics.

9. If you were the CEO for a day, what would you change or introduce?

I’d introduce a Bright Ideas Wall (“Curiosity Hour”), where employees can explore new ideas outside their daily tasks. This could be set up digitally or physically, inviting quick suggestions from employees and rewarding the best idea each week for action. Innovation and operational excellence often stem from curiosity and fresh thinking.

On a lighter note…

10. What is your most memorable facepalm (embarrassing) moment?

I once spent an entire day confidently calling someone by the wrong name - and the funniest part is, they never corrected me until I found out the next day.

11. When was the last time you laughed so hard?

When a colleague tried to tell a story but laughed so much, they couldn’t finish… it was contagious.

12. What is your guilty pleasure?

Binge watching music and dance talent shows on YouTube or TV (Idols, SA Got talent, America Got Talent, Britain Got Talent, Voice).

13. What is one thing people do not know about you?

I am an aspiring books author and a math tutor.

14. If you could invite one famous person (dead or alive) to dinner, who would it be and why?

Dr. Cindy Trimm because her wisdom, discipline, and spiritual strength inspire transformation. Learning from her prophetic insight and leadership would help me grow in both faith and purpose.
